Movement is medicine, have you had yours today?
All too often we see excellent results in our patients whilst under close physio care only to have them suffer and have reoccurring injuries after being discharged. Hence we offer cutting edge rehabilitation programs run by an experienced physiotherapist with full access to our expansive Pilates studio and gym. We teach the latest techniques in core conditioning and strength training balanced with the traditions of Pilates to bring you the most complete rehabilitation program.
Over 50% of these “injuries” that present to physiotherapy clinics are dysfunctions of the body. Think of your knee pain that started after only a 2km walk, your neck pain and headaches that commence at the end of every work day or the low back pain you just woke up with. Where is the mechanism of injury in all of these scenarios?
There wasn’t one because these dysfunctions had been bubbling away under the surface without causing pain. All they needed was a small catalyst to take them from potential threat to chronic, long standing, debilitating pain.
Dysfunctions can be cured. Or dysfunctions can be prevented.
What is Functional Pilates?
Functional Pilates is the perfect combination of core stability, balance and strength training to fix and prevent your individual dysfunctions.
These classes are designed with the individual in mind. Think of them more as personal rehabilitation in a group setting directed by a physiotherapist. Each class will have a maximum of 5 people to ensure you get the individual attention you need.
Functional Pilates is designed as a cost effective adjunct to traditional physical activities. All you need to bring is yourself, comfortable exercise appropriate clothing, a towel and a water bottle.
As these classes are so intimate it is essential to book. They will be filled on a first in best dressed basis. There is also a 24 hr cancellation policy.
